The barrier is what keeps the white from going warm rather than staying grey. The stones are set into the metal, not glued on top of it.

The Thorned Chrome, now in rose gold. 18MM chain alternating cross motifs with spiked links — warm rose tone over the same relentless silhouette. Not subtle. Not for everyone.
This is a love-it-or-hate-it piece. If you're looking at it thinking "maybe," it's not for you. If you're thinking "f**k yes," you already know.
